Think about it, you're trying to go from 30000m/s to 0m/s without travelling anywhere. Even at the slowest supercruise speed you're still talking milliseconds. The reason it was moving out of sights too quickly is because I was in SC literally 10km away from it.10km in supercruise = too close. Sometimes though, the safe bit doesn't come up, even if I am so close at min speed in SC that I can't even line up with the base in my sights as I pass it too quickly.=Too fast because you've not slowed down enough OR you're TOO CLOSE. I can only go off the info you've provided, which as far as I can see points to user error (sorry). If you've already gone past your target: Keep your throttle low, and loop around until you have the target in your sights again.ĭON'T DISSENGAGE if you don't see the "safe" message. Increases the distance you're covering so you're less likely to overshoot your target. To slow yourself more effectively if you're going too fast, zig zag, spiral, or do a loop as you're decelerating instead of travelling in a straight line. If the "SAFE" bit isn't coming up: you're either travelling too fast (it can take a good while to slow down to a safe speed especially if you've been doing longer runs), OR you've got too close before you've slowed down enough and you've passed the safe distance window. You need to loose that speed before you get close. Doesn't matter if you're throttles at zero, you're probably still going past at like 1c or something. The way you describe the base passing through your sights too quickly would indicate you are travelling much too fast. When that happens it always puts me ages away and I can't get closer. Sometimes though, the safe bit doesn't come up, even if I am so close at min speed in SC that I can't even line up with the base in my sights as I pass it too quickly. I always drop out at about 700km away in SC which puts me about 8-10km away. Originally posted by Gareque:I generally wait until Safe comes up.
